THC P What exactly is it?

Recently, scientists have discovered that they can synthesize THCP in the lab by modifying CBD extracted from legal hemp, which is a cannabinoid found in extremely trace amounts in some strains of the cannabis plant. During the 2019 study of a certain strain of marijuana, it was discovered by Italian researchers by accident.

Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabiphorol, often known as delta 9 THCP or THC-heptyl, is the full name for THCP. It's common to shorten THCP to THCP, THC-P, or THCp. "delta-p" is the name given to it by one retailer.

THC P WHAT IS IT?

Following the massive commercial success of delta 8 THC, the cannabis business has discovered a number of hemp derived cannabinoids that are competitive with delta 9 THC, the psychoactive component of traditional marijuana. THCP products are now available to compete in the diversified cannabis market alongside delta 8, delta 10 THC, HHC, and THC-O.

While THCP has the potential to provide a novel and intense high for recreational consumers, it may also have important medical applications. The potential of THCP has only just begun to be explored.

In other words, what is THCP?

It is the most common cannabinoid in most strains of marijuana, and THCP is an organic cannabinoid (or phytocannabinoid) that is extremely similar to delta 9 THC. THCP was initially discovered in a specific strain of marijuana, but it may also be synthesized in a lab by chemically modifying CBD derived from legal hemp plants.

The cannabinoid THCP is of little commercial value because there isn't enough of it in cannabis flowers to justify the cost of extraction.

When comparing THCP to delta 9, it's clear that there is a big difference in the chemical structure of the two. The alkyl side chain (the "tail" of atoms protruding from the base of the biggest section of the molecule) is more extensive. Because THCP has a larger side chain (composed of seven carbon atoms as opposed to delta 9's five), it is able to bind more strongly to human CB1 and CB2 cannabinoid receptors, hence potentially increasing the strength of its effects throughout the brain and body.

Is it possible to get high from THCP?

Probably due to its extended seven-atom side chain, the Italian researchers that discovered organic THCP determined, through testing on grown human cells, that THCP binds 33 times stronger and more effectively with the CB1 receptor than delta 9 THC. THC P works on the endocannabinoid system while the CB1 receptor is the primary target for inducing psychoactivity, THCP also connects with the CB2 receptor with greater affinity.

To put it another way, THCP won't get you 33 times higher than regular delta 9. Any given cannabinoid's ability to excite the endocannabinoid receptors is likely to be capped, and individual responses to cannabinoids vary. THCP has a 33-fold higher binding affinity than delta 9 THC, and while part of this advantage may be lost on cannabinoid receptors that are already at capacity, it seems likely that THCP will be more potent than delta 9 THC for many people. It has the potential to significantly enhance your euphoric state.

To the scientists that discovered THCP, the fact that some marijuana strains include trace amounts of THCP may explain why those strains seem more intoxicating to users than other strains with similar or even higher levels of delta 9 THC. Breeders of cannabis may one day develop new strains with enhanced THCP content to highlight its therapeutic benefits.

The 2019 study by a group of Italian academics is largely responsible for introducing the globe about THCP. We still don't know much about THCP's potential safety issues or side effects because no studies have been conducted on human participants.

Are there any side effects of THCP?

THCP's high affinity for cannabinoid receptors suggests it may have effects that are comparable to, if not stronger than, those of delta 9 THC. To determine the novel cannabinoid's physiological effects, the researchers that found it used the traditional cannabis mouse tests. At low doses, mice showed less activity, while at large doses, they entered a trance-like state known as catalepsy. It appeared that THCP, even in larger doses, was helpful as a pain reliever.

Since THCP binds so strongly to the body's cannabinoid receptors, it has the potential to be very useful, not just as a recreational high but also for pain relief, nausea relief, and inducing sleep. Although research on THCP is still in its infancy, it is likely that the cannabinoid's unparalleled binding affinity with human receptors will make it especially useful for treating those and other conditions.

Some of cannabis' therapeutic benefits may already be attributable to the minute (and unrecognized) quantities of THCP present in established marijuana strains. The researchers that identified THCP in 2019 said that their findings "may shed light on various pharmacological effects not ascribable only to [delta 9 THC]" in marijuana.

Can you buy THCP and is it legal to do so?

The 2018 Farm Bill Agriculture improvement act passed Congress, making hemp and its derivatives lawful if they contain less than 0.3% delta 9 THC. An appeals court ruled in May 2022 that delta 8 THC comes from hemp and is therefore legal in the United States making it federal legal, and this ruling appears to apply to other goods produced from hemp as well, shielding them from federal prosecution.

However, several individual states have taken steps to limit the availability of cannabis products made from hemp to just government-approved dispensaries. Just the use of delta 8 THC has been outlawed or severely restricted in a number of states. But others could follow Oregon’s lead and outlaw all “artificially generated cannabinoids,” including THC-P.

The market for THCP and other forms of thc and cannabinoid derived from hemp, is still in its infancy, and purchasing it might be challenging for newcomers. Many items labeled as containing THCP really include a combination of THCP and other, more common cannabinoids obtained from hemp, such as delta 8 THC.

You can get THCP in many different forms, including pre-filled vape cartridges, single-use vape pens, tinctures, candies, waxy concentrates for dabbing, and even "THCP flower," which is just hemp flower that has been infused or coated with THCP (or a blend that includes THCP).

Products containing THCP can be purchased from many of the same web stores that provide cannabinoid products produced from hemp. Some vape shops and convenience stores also carry them.

Can THCP be detected in a urine drug test?

There is no research to back up the claim that THCP will result in a positive drug test. However, there is no reason to doubt that THCP, like THC, would be detected by common drug tests employed by businesses and law enforcement.

The main line is that THCP, along with THC and other cannabinoids derived from hemp, is probably best avoided if your company conducts drug testing related to marijuana use (except safe forms of CBD).

Does Triangle Hemp Wellness offer shipping services to customers located in the United States?

In general, we ship to most states in the US. THC-P can be legally transmitted by the United States Postal Service (USPS). This is not in any way a question. Hemp products, such as Delta 8-THC, can now be sent within the United States in a secure and legal manner as a result of a clarification that was included in the regulations published by the USPS.
